Manda (Kingdom)

Manda (Hindi: मांडा) was a princely fiefdom of India, with lands located near Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. Notably, the heir to the estate during (1941–2008) was the Indian statesman, Raja Bahadur Vishwanath Pratap Singh.

History

Manda is an erstwhile Zamindari ruled by Rajput Manda Kings of Northern India. The predecessor state of Manikpur was founded in 1080, by Raja Manik Chand, brother of Raja Jai Chand of Kannauj. Manda was technically not a princely state.
