Vir Bahadur Singh

Vir Bahadur Singh was an Indian politician belonging to Indian National Congress. He was Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister of Communications.

Personal life

Vir Bahadur Singh was born in Gorakhpur.[1][2] He participated in Quit India movement in 1942.[3]He died on visit to Paris in 1990.

His son, Fateh Bahadur Singh has been the minister several times in Uttar Pradesh cabinet, he belongs to Bahujan Samaj Party[4]

Political career

Vir Bahadur Singh remained Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 24 September 1985 till 25 June 1988.[5]

He was appointed Union Minister of Communication in 1988, by Rajiv Gandhi.[6]
